Connor Willoughby (born 16 August 1999) is a British private investor, digital architect, and photographer. Born in Coulsdon, Surrey, he relocated to Kent in 2014, where he has remained based since. His career has spanned a variety of industries, providing experience across hospitality, logistics, manufacturing, facilities management, public services, and financial operations. This broad commercial background has shaped a practical understanding of how businesses operate, strengthening a long-standing interest in investing, entrepreneurship, and capital markets.
Today, Connor's primary focus is long-term investing and portfolio development. He actively invests in private companies through leading European investment platforms, including Republic Europe and Crowdcube, supporting businesses across sectors such as financial technology, consumer products, software, sustainability, healthcare, artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, and advanced manufacturing. Rather than concentrating on a single industry, Connor believes that diversification across sectors helps reduce concentration risk while providing exposure to a broad range of long-term growth opportunities.
In addition to private equity, Connor continues to expand his investments across traditional financial markets. His interests include publicly listed equities, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), commodities, cryptocurrencies, government bonds, and index funds. His long-term objective is to build a globally diversified portfolio spanning multiple asset classes, balancing growth opportunities with income-producing and defensive investments where appropriate.
Connor approaches investing with a long-term perspective. Rather than attempting to predict short-term market movements, he focuses on understanding businesses, evaluating management teams, assessing business models, and identifying companies that demonstrate sustainable competitive advantages and long-term growth potential. While acknowledging that all investments carry risk, he believes disciplined research, diversification, patience, and effective risk management remain fundamental principles for successful investing.
Alongside investing, Connor has a strong interest in digital architecture and web development. He enjoys designing structured, information-rich websites that prioritise clarity, accessibility, and usability. His work frequently combines financial data with clean presentation, creating platforms that communicate complex information in a straightforward and organised manner.
Photography also remains an important creative interest. Connor enjoys documenting architecture, transport, landscapes, and everyday environments, using photography as both a creative outlet and a way of recording the places and experiences that shape his journey.
Connor attributes much of his analytical thinking to his experience growing up with special educational needs (SEN). Rather than viewing neurodiversity as a limitation, he considers it one of his greatest strengths. His attention to detail, structured approach to problem-solving, systems thinking, and preference for logical organisation influence both his investment process and his approach to digital design. He is proud of his educational journey and believes that different ways of thinking can provide valuable perspectives when analysing businesses and solving complex problems.
